Every home in Perth, in my opinion, requires central air conditioning. We have air conditioning in our cars, our offices and even in our factories. So why not in our Perth homes because we have lots of hot summer nights. So in order to have a good nights sleep, we need to have our bedroom at the right temperature. This will then ensure we have good nights sleep both in summer and winter.
There are many different types of air conditioning on the market. That will suit many different needs and budgets. A common theme no matter which type of system you . Buy a quality air conditioning system that has a reputation for reliability. Because it will be worth it in the long run. The better known brands will have a backup of parts and service.
Quality brands of air conditioning units
I personally recommend 4 different brands of reverse cycle air conditioning units. Each brand has there own features and benefits. Every brand I recomend I would put in my own home because of there reliability and quality. the four brands in no particular order are.
- Mitsubishi heavy industries: this brand in my opinion over great value for money. the brand offers many different types of air conditioning systems. The Mitsubishi split air conditioner recently won the choice awards in many different categories for many different sizes.
- Panasonic: The Panasonic brand is very well known for its reliability and extensive product range. Because it is one of the first major brands to convert some of there most popular ducted air conditioning systems over to R32 gas. Most of the other reputable brands have produced an R32 split air conditioner range.
- Actron Air: Is a fantastic Australian made product. The Air Actron Air esp plus is one of my favourites models. The esp plus is the only ducted air conditioning system on the market that ramp downs to one outlet. This will reduce your energy costs.
- Daikin: Daikin Air con systems are known the world over for there reliability. The Daikin system is a very well known brand in the northwest of Western Australia within the mining industries. Places like Port headland and Karratha
Design
The design of your system, in my opinion, is the most important part to ensure your comfort level is maintained. Because no matter how good your air conditioning unit is. It cannot make up for a poor design. Some problems that can be experienced are.
- For example, a wall split can be undersized. therefore not heating or cooling the area correctly.
- Ducted systems the wrong size flexible ducting can be used or once again the wrong size machine can be selected.
- In general salesmen, without industry experience design the system and you trust their experience. I was at a job recently, I had just finished my client parents house. They ask me could I have a look at there home because they had airflow problems. they had the system in and running for 10 years. I look in the roof and surprised on the sizing used. I quoted the job and was awarded the job. We completed the work and the client was amazed by the difference. They had put up with a poor design from the day it was installed.
Therefore when having your system designed. Use a local air conditioning contractor ensure they are an industry professional. Because they know what to look out for when calculating the heat load.
